1% for the Tetons is a member-funded organization providing leadership and financial support to innovative conservation projects in the greater Tetons region. 1% for the Tetons was founded eight years ago, with inspiration from Patagonia founder Yvon Chouinard and Blue Ribbon Flies owner Craig Mathews, and is the first and only local chapter of 1% for the Planet. 1% for the Tetons members contribute 1% of annual revenue to local conservation projects.

Over the past eight years, 1% for the Tetons members have collectively contributed more than $800,000 to local conservation projects. We focus on early stage projects in need of seed funding to launch new and innovative approaches to conservation. As an example, 1% for the Tetons provided the first round of funding for Vertical Harvest, one of the country’s first vertical greenhouses. 1% for the Tetons has also supported wildlife and conservation projects through organizations like Friends of the Teton River and the Teton Raptor Center.
WHAT WE DO
1% for the Tetons’ member businesses donate one percent of their annual sales to 1% for the Tetons. Those donations fund our annual grant program open to projects furthering the long-term sustainability of the Tetons region. 1% for the
Tetons is a local chapter of 1% for the Planet.

Our members benefit from the use of the 1% for the Tetons and 1% for the Planet logo to uniquely position their businesses as leaders in the local conservation movement. This allows the general public to identify and support businesses actively making a contribution to environmental conservation. Member businesses also benefit from access and engagement with other forward-thinking business leaders and local conservation organizations.
Our annual Video Blitz pairs up and coming filmmakers with 1% for the Tetons funded projects to showcase through film the impact of member donations. These films are showcased in person each fall, and filmmakers compete for cash prizes in different categories. We also promote these videos to a large online audience to show the impact of the work accomplished by 1% for the
Tetons members.
