1% for the Tetons 2010 Donations Due March 31

« Return to the News

This year, 1% for the Tetons is asking you, our Members, to make your donations by March 31. We're
doing this for two reasons:

  1. To align our deadline with the 1% for the Planet deadline (to make it
    easier for them to verify and certify members' donations); and
  2. As part of the changes to our grants process, we will be giving out our money in June, rather than in August as in past years.  As a result, we need your money sooner.

As you know, another part of the changes to our grants process is allowing you - if you'd like - to direct your donations to any or all of the grant applications we receive. The process for this will be very straightforward:

You'll log onto your page in the "members" area of the re-vamped 1PercentTetons.org website;

You'll see how much money you've donated;

You'll be able to direct up to 100% of your donation to the applications you like the best.  Alternatively, you can continue to let the 1% Grants Committee direct it on your behalf.

In order for this new system to work, however, we need to receive your donation by March 31.  Otherwise, we won't have time to program the website properly.

So, if you want to be able to direct your 2010 donation, please be sure to get your donation in by Wednesday, March 31 (or let me know if you can't). Donations that come in after that will be granted out by the Grants Committee (i.e. the same system we've used in past years).

Make your check payable to the Community Foundation of Jackson Hole, and specifiy that it's your 2009 donation to 1% for the Tetons.

Mail it to:

As always, thanks so much for your support of 1% for the Tetons.
